Prior to founding New Republic Media Matthew served as Executive Vice President International Marketing at Exclusive Media Group working on the distribution of films including The Woman in Black (Daniel Radcliffe), So Undercover (Miley Cyrus), Matt Reeves’ Let Me In (Chloe Moretz, Richard Jenkins), Peter Weir’s The Way Back (Ed Harris, Saoirse Ronan, Colin Farrell)George Clooney’s Ides of March (George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Evan Rachel Wood), David Ayer’s End of Watch (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Oscar winning doc Undefeated; in addition to the hugely successful relaunch of iconic brand Hammer Films across multiple brand and consumer channels.

In 2008 Starz Media charged Matthew with all aspects of the international theatrical and DVD release for Space Chimps (a $40m animated collaboration between Shrek creator Vanguard Animation and director of Men in Black) in over 60 territories worldwide in addition to co-ordinating with global licensing and promotional partners including Penguin Books, Warner Bros Interactive and Dole Foods.

In 2003 Matthew was asked to head up marketing and communications at Odyssey Entertainment with a slate that included The Libertine (Johnny Depp, John Malkovich), Valiant (Ewan McGregor), Happily N’Ever After (Sigourney Weaver), Classic Media’s Lassie (Peter O’Toole) franchise and Oscar nominees An Education (Carey Mulligan)August Rush (Robin Williams) and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera which grossed $155m worldwide. 

As Senior Account Director at film marketing agency The Creative Partnership Matthew's client group included Twentieth Century Fox (28 Days LaterMoulin Rouge, Ice Age), Universal Pictures (Love ActuallyAbout a Boy), UIP (GladiatorMeet the ParentsHannibal, The Fast and the Furious), Entertainment Film Distributors, Momentum Pictures, Channel 4 and Endemol  together with a host of independent producers and international distributors. 

Matthew started his career Twentieth Century Fox UK, playing a central role in creating award winning theatrical campaigns of over 90 titles including The Star Wars Trilogy, Titanic, Romeo + Juliet and The Full Monty.
